Thabiso Mashaba is a Strategist, Cultural and Environmental Economist, Cultural and Creative Industries Policy Maker, Development Practitioner and Social Entrepreneur .


He is the Co- Founder, CEO and Lead Instructor of These Hands GSSE based in Botswana and New Zealand; Outgoing Chairperson of the Botswana Human Resource Development Council’s Creative Industries Sector Committee; Member of the International Development Innovation Network (IDIN) Global Steering Committee based at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) D-Lab; Advisory Board Chairperson of the Youth Social Advocacy Team (YSAT) based in Uganda and South Sudan; Creative Consultant of DSIL Global; Co-Founder and Project Coordinator of the IDIN Southern Africa and IDIN Africa Consortiums; Founding Member of the Southern Africa Innovation Collective Management Team; an International fellow of the Edmund Hillary Fellowship (EHF) of the New Zealand Government ; a 2015 Orange Africa Social Venture Prize Botswana Winner and Top 11 Continental Finalist; a 2019 Science and Innovation Management Top 50 Finalist of the Falling Walls Foundation Global Competition; a 2022 Science Engagement Category Winner of the Falling Walls Foundation Global Competition; a 2023 Falling Walls Foundation Advisory Board member of the Falling Walls Engage Global Competition Category; and Project Coordinator of the Slash for Cash project based in Tolaga Bay in New Zealand.
